Help Fund the Tool Library — Fund-Raising Request Video

We’re starting a tool library at the Low Technology Institute and we need your help. We’re accepting donations of tools, money, volunteers, and social media shares; please do what you can to help us get this community resource going. We’ve launched a fund-raiser at YouCaring.com and will be sharing it on our social media feeds for the next week. We know you’re inundated with requests on your time and wallet but hope you’ll take a minute to help spread the word and support this project.

The Pitch

We’re raising money to start a tool library in historic Cooksville, Wisconsin at the Low Technology Institute. A tool library works just like a book library, but we’ve got tools you can borrow to complete your home projects without buying any extra tools you’ll only use once. Many of us have tools collecting dust in our basements or garages and a local tool library is a great place to donate them: you can still use the tools when you need them, but they’ll be maintained and put to good use by others, too.

We’re looking to raise $500 in this campaign. Half of that money will go to funding the tool wall and storage boxes to house the library’s holdings. The other half will be used to purchase tools and supplies to maintain them. In addition to monetary donations here, we’re taking tools at any time on site. We will be opening in the spring of 2018 and will wrap up our fundraiser by then. Please consider donating to our campaign, dropping off tools, or volunteering your time.

Donations of $50 or more come with a one-year membership to the institute.

Donations of $100 or more get your name on the tool wall and library website as a significant donor to the project.
