In two short weeks we’ll be hosting the Wisconsin Permaculture Convergence (see info at end of post). We are excited but also hustling to get our space ready for 50-100 people to descend on our space and village. We have a to-do list of things to “spiff up” the institute grounds and environs — and we’re asking for your help!
The tasks range from moving wheelbarrows of woodchips for paths to prepping camping sites by mowing grass and driving stakes. We also have light tasks, like dusting, sweeping, and light organization. Or if you want to get your sweat on, we do have stones that can be shifted, logs that can be sawn, etc. but as a volunteer you can “choose your own adventure,” when it comes to level of difficulty and sweat.
We’ll make a lunch for folks: probably a lentil stew and fresh bread. We’ll have water, lemonade, kombucha, iced tea, etc. and some sort of sweet snack available.
The Details
We’re looking for help on Saturday, August 17, anytime from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You’re welcome to come for an hour or two, the whole morning, afternoon, or all day! We’re grateful for any help to get our space into good shape for hosting the convergence. We’re in the historic village of Cooksville, between Stoughton and Evansville, a short 25-min drive from Madison.
To join in the effort, send an email to info@lowtechinstitute.org and let us know you’re coming and your approximate availability that day.
The Wisconsin Permaculture Convergence takes place August 23–25 at the Low Technology Institute in Cooksville, Wisconsin. Find out more information at the event website: wisconsinpermacultureconvergence.com
