Links Worth Following — Google’s Project Sunroof

Knowing your solar resources are one of the first steps to considering what you can do with all that great free energy. I’ve talked about this in relation to a solar water heater in a previous post on regional and local solar resources, but Google has used their extensive mapping data to estimate the solar resources of houses across the United States.

Proceed to Google’s Project Sunroof page, enter your address and you’re off. Note that it relies on satellite and streetview images that may be out of date, so if you just removed a tree south of your roof, you might not get an accurate reading.
